Dr. Vivianne LaRivière provides services as a spiritual arts practitioner, and an artist engaging with various formats. She brings decades of experience working with the convergence of art and spirituality, noting the language of symbols and metaphors are powerful tools that may call us toward the portals of healing and transformation.
Vivianne believes deeply in the power of story telling. She believes engaging with spirituality and the arts offers deeper insights that our every day language may fail to describe. She is particularly keen on the impact of grief and loss in our lives. And how this might be affecting how we interact with our relationships as a result of not dealing with our grief in a healthy way.
Then there’s Vivianne, the artist. Art, in one form or another, has been her life-long companion.
“Art is a way for me to explore both my inner world, and how I process my place in the outer world. I’ve always been particularly fascinated by the power of improvisation, whether that be with a piano, a voice, a camera or a canvas. Deeply listening to what is being sung, or written, or painted…the language beyond all of the chatter and noise of our so, so busy world. This is where I find my joy, my peace. It is a contemplative Divine space for me, filled with love, and passion. It is a place of Light for me.”
Vivianne – a Doctor of Ministry – also holds a Master of Pastoral Studies, a Master of Theological Studies. Additionally, she holds a diploma in Recording Arts Management, and is a Reiki Master. Vivianne is a songwriter, painter, photographer, and a writer who indulgences in the art of theological reflection, and other whimsical poetic notions as they appear.
Vivianne is a member of The Canadian Association for Spiritual Care (CASC), Spiritual Directions International (SDI), the Society of Composers, Authors and Music Publishers (SOCAN), and the Association of Practical Theology (APT).
